There is only one king of the clay, as the clay season comes to an end. After winning the titles in Monte Carlo and Barcelona for the tenth time in his career, Rafael Nadal did it in the french open as well.

"La Decima"

Rafael Nadal beat Stanislas Wawrinka 6-2 6-3 6-1 in the French Open final after two hours of play. Everything was pretty clear after just six games in the first set, when Rafa broke Wawrinka's serve and won seven games in a row.

The Swiss had only one break point in the entire match and he didn't convert it. Nadal's offensive play surprised Wawrinka, as he couldn't find his rhythm with the shots. He was completely helpless in this match.

This was Nadal's tenth French Open title, as he claimed the famous "La Decima", the thing that nobody has done before. Also, this title brings Nadal his 15th Grand Slam of his career, as he now stands alone on the second place of the all time Grand Slam winners. And his overall record in the French Open is just too impressive (79-2).

Stanislas Wawrinka played his second French Open final and fourth overall at Grand Slams.

This was his first loss in the finals. The Swiss retains the third place on the ATP list, while Nadal moves up to the second spot.

The other titles

Jelena Ostapenko won the French Open in the women's draw, after beating Simona Halep in the final. The 20 year-old sensation was down 6-4 3-0, when she started her amazing comeback. Ostapenko hit 54 winners in the match to beat Halep, as she wins the first WTA title of her career. The last person who did it was Gustavo Kuerten, as he won the French Open in 1997, which was his first career title. And that was the day when Ostapenko was born…

Ryan Harrison and Michael Venus won the men's doubles title, after beating Santiago Gonzalez and Donald Young 7-6 6-7 6-3 in the final.

This was their first career Grand Slam title.

Bethanie Mattek-Sands and Lucie Safarova won the women's doubles title, as they defeated Australian combination Ashleigh Barty and Casey DellAcqua in the final. This was their second Grand Slam title of the season, after winning the Australian Open in January and their fifth Grand Slam title overall.

Alexei Popyrin won the boys single title, after beating the Spaniard Nicola Kuhn, while Whitney Osuigwe won the girls single title, as she defeated Claire Liu in the American final.
