While the Nebraska football program continues to roll right along with its 2018 recruiting class, the team has also been working hard to get the best group it can when it comes to the 2019 class. That hard work has paid off once again as one of the best players in the upcoming class has announced his Top 10 list and the Huskers are among that select group. The top outside linebacker in the 2019 class and the fourth best player overall, Owen Pappoe is being sought after by the best teams in the country. Nebraska being among the teams he's giving a longer look shows just how far Mike Riley and company have managed to bring the school in a short period of time on the recruiting end.

Twitter announcement

Pappoe listed his final 10 teams on Twitter, as so many other recruits have done these days. The social media platform has become an important recruiting tool for coaches and players and it's quickly become the top communication device for players to keep fans of Nebraska and other schools in the know. During the announcement, Pappoe thanked God, his parents, and siblings for the support. He then went on to break down the schools that have made the cut.

The outside linebacker also made it clear that while there is a Top 10 list, he is not going to be putting those teams in an order that hint at who he is favoring.

Perhaps the most interesting thing about that list is the sheer number of teams from the SEC who make up the final 10. Florida, Tennessee, LSU, Georgia, Auburn, and Alabama are all there. The ACC is represented by Clemson and Florida State. The Big Ten has a pair of representatives as well as Nebraska is joined by Ohio State.

Nebraska football will have to fight off Florida State most of all

If the prognosticators can be believed, it appears the Seminoles are going to be the team to beat. 247 Sports has put their Crystal Ball at 86 percent. It should be noted that the website is hardly infallible, as Tennessee was listed among the top teams to land the linebacker.

The Volunteers did not end up making this final 10 list.

That doesn't mean Nebraska doesn't need to worry about Tennesee but it does show there is at least a bit of a gap in what the website believes about the Georgia high school player and what is coming to be in reality. The football player also has over 30 offers from the top schools in the country and it is still very early in the process. It's entirely possible Nebraska can move up the list while it's also possible the Nebraska football team will fall by the wayside. Either way, being included in the final cut should be considered a win for Nebraska to some degree.
