Adrian Peterson spent the first 10 years of his career with the Minnesota Vikings, leading the NFL in rushing three times over his career. That included his huge 2,000-yard season in 2012 and a 1,485-yard 2015 season the year after tearing his ACL. Now, he is playing with the new orleans Saints, after the Vikings released him this offseason. The Vikings play the Saints on Sept. 11, the first game of the 2017 NFL season, and Peterson joked that he would be out for "revenge" in the game.

Adrian said that he used to joke with the Vikings defense in practice and would tell them he could run for 150 or 200 yards against them if he was on the other sidelines. He said that, now that he is playing for the New Orleans Saints, he can prove to them that it wasn't just talk. He also said that it will be exciting because he has so many great memories from Minnesota, calling the fans great and pointing out how they supported him through his entire career. He then always rebounded from the injuries better than ever. In 2011, Adrian tore his ACL. In 2012, Peterson returned in Week 1 and came within eight yards of breaking Eric Dickerson's single-season rushing record, with 2,097 yards and the NFL MVP award.
In 2014, Adrian tore his ACL again and returned in 2015 to lead the NFL in rushing again with 1,485 yards and 11 touchdowns. In 2016, Adrian spent most of the time injured once again and hopes to continue his streak of returning stronger than ever in 2017 with the New Orleans Saints.

The Minnesota Vikings cutting Adrian Peterson in 2017 was more of a financial concern but the New Orleans Saints didn't have a problem with signing him to a two-year deal. Now, the first regular season game that Adrian will play in will be against the Vikings. Peterson will split carries with Mark Ingram and he hopes to prove to the Vikings and the NFL that he isn't finished yet.
