Alexa Bliss set a date with WWE RAW women’s champion Bayley after beating Sasha Banks, Nia Jax and Mickie James in a Fatal 4-Way no.1 contender’s match on “Monday Night RAW.”

Bliss made her presence felt in just her second week on RAW following the Superstar Shakeup. The former two-time SmackDown champion made a bold statement of taking over the flagship show’s women division right away.

One week later, Bliss became the new no.1 contender after pinning Banks at the center of the ring. She will challenge Bayley for the WWE RAW women’s championship at "WWE Payback 2017" at SAP Center in San Jose, California on April 30.

Bliss vs. Bayley title showdown

The championship feud featuring Bayley and Bliss provides a breath of fresh air to the RAW women’s division after a seemingly endless cycle of Bayley-Banks-Charlotte storyline.

Alexa Bliss is far from being a finished product She still made botches during big matches with Becky Lynch, Mickie James, and Naomi. Her incredible mic skills and appeal to the crowd overshadows all her in-ring flaws.

In fact, it’s not an exaggeration to say that Bliss is the most over female heel in wrestling today.

As for Bayley, this feud provides her an opportunity to produce quality matches with a below-average in-ring performer. On the other hand, the reigning women’s champ faces tremendous pressure in matching Bliss’ intense promos. Outside her ‘huggable’ character, Bayley’s lackluster mic skills often result to cringe-worthy segments, especially when paired with Sasha Banks.

It’s going to be a learning experience for both wrestlers. However, one thing is for sure about this feud: the longer it gets, the better these two superstars will be.

SummerSlam plan still in play

Unfortunately, Little Miss Bliss’ rivalry with Bayley will not last that long, as the latter is scheduled for a marquee match with Sasha Banks at “SummerSlam 2017” in August.

Wrestling insiders believe the main purpose why Bliss was elevated to no.1 contender status against Bayley is to emphasize Banks’ slow-burn heel turn. It’s no secret WWE has been hinting Banks to enable Bayley ever since ‘The Hugger’ won the title from Charlotte at “Fastlane 2017.” With Charlotte joining SmackDown, Banks’ incoming heel turn would instantly make her the top villain in the division. Bliss, meanwhile, might find herself feuding again with Mickie James, Emma or Nia Jax at that time.
