With the NBA playoffs just around the corner, the latest odds to win the NBA Championship are out. While eight teams from the Easterm and Western Conference will each be trying their best to win the Larry O'Brien trophy, only one team can. Vegas sports books seem to believe that this year's Warriors team has a strong chance to win the championship. However, they were that team last year until the Cleveland Cavaliers defeated them in a stunning NBA Finals comeback.
Top two NBA title odds
The Golden State Warriors are the overall favorites to win the NBA Finals this year.
As of this report, they were listed as 2 to 1 favorites to win the championship. The team reloaded last season when they signed Kevin Durant to their team, who left the OKC Thunder. In the first round this year, No. 1 seed Golden State will take on Damian Lillard and the No. 8 seed Portland Trail Blazers.
The Cleveland Cavaliers are second-overall when it comes to favorites to win it all. Cleveland currently has odds of 7-2 to win the championship or +350 on the moneyline. The Cavs finished as the No. 2 seed in the East so they'll have a first-round matchup against No. 7 seed Indiana.
Other contenders?
The San Antonio Spurs finished second to the Warriors out West. They hold the third-best odds to win the title at +900 or 9 to 1.
The Spurs start their NBA playoffs with a matchup against No. 7 seed Memphis which could be pretty interesting to watch go forth.
The best team in the Eastern Conference was the Boston Celtics in terms of record. Despite all of that, they've still been given a lower chance than Cleveland to win the title. In addition, Boston is listed as a +450 favorite to win the East side of the bracket, which is lower than No.
2 seed Cleveland (-250). Boston will start the playoffs taking on the Chicago Bulls in a seven-game series.
The Vegas Insider website currently lists different odds for the teams but still has them ranked the same. Golden State is first at 5 to 11 odds followed by Cleveland at 19 to 5. The Spurs are 9 to 1 favorites, with the Celtics at 20 to 1.
Houston, Los Angeles, and Toronto each carry 30 to 1 odds to win the NBA title this summer.
In terms of longshots, nobody outranks the Portland Trail Blazers. They're currently at 300 to 1 odds to get past Golden State and win the NBA championship. Memphis is at 250 to 1, with Atlanta and Oklahoma City each at underdog odds of 225 to 1 to win it all.
The 2017 NBA Playoffs will get started on Saturday, April 15th with several of the first-round Game 1s taking place then and Sunday.
