The Golden State Warriors recalled Damian Jones from the Development League's Santa Cruz Warriors on Friday, Anthony Slater of the San Jose Mercury News reports. Warriors rookie center Damian Jones received a call-up from the Santa Cruz Warriors, the Warriors Development League associate; the Warriors made this announcement on Tuesday.

Jones has been performing well in the D-league

Damian Jones' recallment comes the day after the Santa Cruz Warriors' season ended at the hand of the Oklahoma City Blue in the Western Conference semifinals. Jones who stands at seven feet and weighs in at 245 pounds was named the NBA Development League Player of the Month in the months of March and April.

Jones was a critical factor in all three of the Santa Cruz Warriors' games to the Oklahoma City Blue in the Western Conference Semifinals. In these semifinals contests Jones averaged 13.3 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.67 blocks in 24.0 minutes.

With Damian Jones struggling with foul trouble and also his fitness early in the season, the Vanderbilt commodity developed into one of the Development Leagues' best big men. Jones was named the D-League Player of the Month for his outstanding performances throughout the months of March and April. With the Golden State Warriors playing its' final regular-season game on Wednesday against the Los Angeles Lakes. Damian Jones returns to a team ready for a deep postseason run.

The 21-year old from Baton Rouge, Louisana, supplements and already deep frontcourt featuring the likes of Andre Iguodala, Zaza Pachulia, Draymond Green and Kevin Durant amongst other players.

Jones could be involved in the Warriors' future

Damian Jones' progress is worth keeping track of as he is the only Golden State Warriors' center on the roster that contract extends beyond the end of this season.

In Jones' nine league games so far, Jones averages 1.7 points and 1.8 rebounds. Damian Jones who was assigned to the Development League, and immediately proved himself with winning the D-League player of the month award. The Golden State Warriors who will presumably sit a majority of their players in the rotation in their season finale against the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday night.
