Some fans of the Hallmark Channel's most beloved drama "When Calls the Heart" criticized the series because Elizabeth Thornton (played by Erin Krakow) traveled unchaperoned on an overnight trip with Chris McNally's Lucas Bouchard. The series executive producer Brian Bird responded to fans and made it clear that "When Calls the Heart" is an entertainment series, not a historical documentary and that jotting historical i's and crossing t's are not necessary.
