Johnny Galecki is a star who knows how to cultivate long-running success on the small screen, and true friendships in real life. The 43-year-old actor turned his role of just “being there” as David Healy on “Rosanne” in its original run into a character of considerable personal depth as the partner to Darlene Connor, and a young father, opposite Sarah Gilbert. Since 2007, Johnny Galecki's character of Leonard Hofstadter on “The Big Bang Theory” has been the steady force to balance out the obsessive extremes of Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons) while managing to stay friends and colleagues.
Along the way, and despite countless distractions from Sheldon, romance blossomed between Leonard and Penny, who exchanged wedding vows in 2016 in a memorable TV wedding.
Kaley Cuoco, who is technically still a TV newlywed to Galecki, had her real-life wedding to equestrian Karl Cook this weekend, as reported by “Today” and numerous other sources, and not every touching moment was between the bride and groom. Johnny Galecki offered his hands and words from his heart to Kaley, now Mrs. Cook, and the sincerity showed.
Genuine happiness for a ‘fake wife’
Captioning a lovely photo of himself holding a radiant Kaley Cuoco’s hands, Johnny Galecki gushed: “Couldn’t be happier for my fake wife.” He also noted that her groom’s words had “brought us all to tears” the night before.
The co-star closed that caption with “So much love for you both,” and the proof was evident from their loving gazes.
Super-smart neuroscientist, mom, and actress Mayim Bialik was another guest who was carried away by the “gorgeous wedding” of her co-star. The star who brings Amy to life in the comedy created a photo collage in her social media post, including a snapshot of herself and actor Wil Wheaton.
Kaley Cuoco and Karl Cook kept their horse-themed nuptials close to the heart and all in the family. The ceremony was held at a horse stable outside San Diego, CA, with Cuoco’s sister, Briana, officiating. She wasn't shy about telling the guests that her legal license to oversee the vows was granted from an online course.
The bride changed from her Reem Acra gown to a white jumpsuit for her reception and guests, but Karl Cook was still overflowing with love and praise for his wife and her style on Sunday, saying "god d*** that dress was amazing!” on social media.
A friend for all-time
While 2016 brought the TV wedding for Galecki and Cuoco, the year brought a painful divorce for Kaley Cuoco and professional tennis player Ryan Sweeting. Friends are crucial for most people in terms of picking up the pieces after a blow in life. That kind of friendship seems clear between Johnny Galecki and Kaley Cuoco, as she looks to a brighter future now.
Sara Gilbert has frequently shared on her daytime talk show “The Talk" what Galecki’s friendship meant to her during struggles in her younger years. The two have remained close friends since their initial stint on "Roseanne," and Galecki reprised his role in the 2018 “Rosanne” run. It would not be surprising to see him more often in the planned run of “The Conners” this fall.
