When Calls the Heart” has legions of fans, and the numbers can be counted from all points on the globe. The Hallmark Channel’s most popular and beloved drama, centering around the joys, lives, and struggles of the strong and faithful citizens of Hope Valley, has captivated heart from all locales, and the evidence is in the attendance of their annual convention. News of this year's event broke Saturday (June 2), and as reported on June 4 by international business Times, eager “When Calls the Heart” fans will not have to be in a complete frenzy to have their chance at getting tickets this year.

A whole week of opportunity

Season 5’s tragic loss of beloved Mountie, Jack Thorton, portrayed by Australian actor, writer and musician, Daniel Lissing, left more than his castmates feeling lost. Many fans were in mourning almost as deeply as the character of his newlywed wife, Elizabeth, brought to the screen by Erin Krakow. The Hearties reunion will provide much needed heart-to-heart bonding between fans, crew, and cast who share a common fervor for their favorite show.

Shock and sadness notwithstanding, Daniel, Erin Krakow, and Lori Loughlin exhibited a united front of friendship and support in discussing the departure on “Home & Family.” The trio of talented actors reminded faithful followers that Lissing would remain part of the Hallmark family, and possibilities will continue for future projects with the network.

They also discussed how the producers and cast went to extreme measures to make the end of the last season with Lissing hold everything fans could hope for: a deeply personal and beautiful wedding, and the promise of a child to be born.

Unfortunately, organizers of the convention, also known as HFR4, have already shared that they “do not expect Daniel Lissing to attend.” Many favorites, however, are expected to be there in Greater Vancouver, British Columbia, from October 19-21, ready hear from viewers who keep “When Calls the Heart” surging in the ratings, and coming back season after season.

The best news for fans is that this year, there is a full week of an “opportunity drawing” which opened yesterday morning, and will run through Sunday, June 10, at 8 PM ET. After the drawing window closes, those entering will be randomly selected to receive e-mails on how to purchase tickets. There is room for 300 devoted “When Calls the Heart” aficionados at the convention.

Producer Brian Bird has been spreading the word about this revamped opportunity for fans to attend on Twitter. The convention website has also had a complete redesign to be more user-friendly.

The next best thing to being there

No one should dismay if he or she misses out on one of those sought-after e-mails, or cannot manage the funds to fly to Vancouver. “When Calls the Heart” favorites, Kavan Smith and Pascale Hutton are starring together in their own wedding sequel on Saturday, June 9, “The Perfect Bride: Wedding Bells.” Erin Kraków has also been sharing bits from her upcoming and anticipated Hallmark Christmas movie for this season, “Marrying Father Christmas,” which picks up on her love story and family saga as Miranda Carson.

Tuned-in fans know that Christmas begins in October for the Hallmark networks’ season, and two weddings featuring cast favorites seems like the perfect lead-in to the birth of a very cherished child on “When Calls the Heart” in Season 6 when January arrives. For those ready to click at their keyboards, there’s still plenty of time to have a chance.
