The great day is fast approaching for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry and preparations are on to ensure a happy wedding. She is an actress from Hollywood and he is a member of the British Royal family and a fighter pilot who has seen action in Afghanistan. They met at a blind date arranged by a mutual friend and their fairytale romance has blossomed into a beautiful alliance. They have chosen the Ascot Landau Carriage as their mode of travel at Windsor Castle immediately after the wedding.

The Sun UK reports that, according to tradition, the duo has opted for the carriage that has featured in the past in the procession taken after the marriage of Prince William and Kate Middleton in 2011.

The Ascot Landau Carriage

These carriages are kept by the Royal Mews and are used every year during The Queen's procession at Royal Ascot. There are a total of five of these carriages and two were on display during the marriage procession of Harry’s elder brother William. On that occasion, Harry was the best man and he was accompanied by the young bridesmaids and page boys. Kate’s sister Pippa Middleton traveled in another carriage – she was Kate’s Maid of Honour.

Therefore, after completing the wedding formalities, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will greet the crowds and well-wishers in Windsor as they move out in the carriage on May 19.

The construction of the carriage is such that outsiders can get a complete view of the occupants and, therefore, is considered to be an ideal choice.

If it rains, the Scottish State Coach will be used – it is protected with a glass roof and windows.

Commemorative coins of Harry and Meghan

The wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has generated a lot of curiosity and as Meghan gained in confidence, those around her have been impressed by her ability to adapt to the situation.

It is, therefore, natural that a commemorative coin be released on the occasion so that people can obtain it and preserve it as a souvenir.

According to Express UK, the coin shows the two of them looking lovingly into each other's eyes. They had a special session in Kensington Palace and posed for the portraits with an artist of the Royal Mint.

There are three versions of the coin to be released including one of silver and another of gold.

This will be the first time Meghan, an actress of Hollywood, will appear on a UK coin. For Harry, it will be the second time. Previously, he had featured on a coin in 2005 to mark his 21st birthday.
