Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have selected a group of 10 children who will act as bridesmaids and page boys on the wedding day. The group will be headed by Prince George (4) and Princess Charlotte (3). They have some experience since they assumed similar roles during the marriage of their aunt, Pippa Middleton.
People reports that Meghan will not have a maid of honor. Kensington Palace has explained that she has a large circle of friends and it was a difficult task to choose one over another. She wants to have their support. However, Harry will have a best man – his elder brother William.
It will be a reciprocal gesture because Harry was the best man for Prince William when he tied the knot with Kate Middleton in 2011.
The bridesmaids and page boys
The list of bridesmaids and page boys for the wedding has also been finalized. Prince George (4) and Princess Charlotte (3) are the only ones with ties to the Royal family. Others include the godchildren of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and the children of their friends.
Those who are linked to Meghan are from Los Angeles and Canada. Two of the bridesmaids are Remi Litt, and Rylan Litt, daughters of Benita Litt, an LA-based brand curator and bag designer. Meghan is their godmother. Another bridesmaid is Florence van Cutsem (3) who is Harry’s goddaughter.
Along with her is Zalie Warren (2) who is another goddaughter of Harry.
As to the page boys, there are Jasper Dyer (6), the son of Harry’s old friend and mentor Mark Dyer and his American wife, Amanda. The twin 7-year-old sons of the Mulroneys are also on the list. They, like their sister Ivy, are the grandchildren of former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney
The guest list
Both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have their own circle of friends and the guest list for the wedding is not yet known, but political leaders will not be there.
According to Express UK, the names of some Celebrities making the rounds include Serena Williams, David and Victoria Beckham, Sir Elton John, and Ellie Golding.
Meghan Markle was a star on the hit TV drama "Suits” and a group of at least 16 people from that team are on their way to attend the wedding.
In addition, there will be some commoners who have shown strong leadership qualities, including young people who have served their communities. It will be a way to repay society by recognizing such individuals. The selection shows that Meghan has a mind of her own and can make necessary decisions.
