A rumor was ignited that Heather Locklear might join "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" in its ninth season. In Touch magazine got tongues wagging when it claimed last week that the embattled actress is in talks to be on "rhobh."
Tabloid claims
According to In Touch, the former "Dynasty" star's "post-rehab plans may include a turn on reality TV." A dubious insider alleges that Andy Cohen has been "after" Heather Locklear to join "RHOBH" for years, but she's turned it down. Season 9 may be the perfect opportunity, the report stated.
As the report suggests, Heather agreeing to go on the show would benefit her because "her people think it might be a good way for her to stay accountable and sober." Her story is oddly similar to that of Kim Richards, who's known as the addict on the show.
Kim wasn't on season 8 of the show, however. In past seasons, the show has chronicled her progress and setbacks.
The magazine's report contends that "RHOBH" would be the ideal platform for Heather Locklear to make a comeback. While it seems her latest breakdown and hiatus from acting sets her up as a coveted "Housewives" cast member, it doesn't necessarily mean she's hitting the reality TV circuit. The source further said that Heather still has a huge fan base from "Dynasty" and "Melrose Place," and that her addition to "RHOBH" in season 9 would be a great fit. It's just a matter of waiting for Heather to decide whether she wants to sign up, the insider claimed.
Rumor squashed
Gossip Cop looked into the rumor about Heather Locklear joining "The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills" and it's deemed "untrue." Her rep told the the surveillance site that it is "not true" that Heather is in talks to join the Bravo reality show.
The site also mentions that casting decisions aren't made until after the show airs. "RHOBH" is still broadcasting, which means there are no current discussions over who'll be on the show next year.
Gossip Cop imparts that Heather Locklear hasn't ever appeared on reality TV and doesn't intend to join "RHOBH." The actress is focused on her health and staying out of the spotlight, the site explains.

Locklear's plight
It was reported by People in late March that Heather Locklear was doing "really well" in rehab. She checked in for treatment following an arrest in February over an alleged domestic violence incident.
She pleaded not guilty to an array of charges that included battery on a police officer. Her next court date isn't until June, but there won't be any cameras there to document the hearing for "RHOBH," or any other show.
"The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" season 9 will air in late 2018.
