The waiting game is officially over!

Prince William and Kate Middleton have welcomed a healthy baby boy on Monday, as confirmed by the Kensington Palace.

According to reports, the Duchess Of Cambridge had gone into early labor in the early hours of the morning and was rushed to St. Mary's Hospital in Paddington, London. She traveled by car to the Lindo Wing and was accompanied by Prince William.

A bouncing baby boy!

Just before 6 a.m. (U.K. time), Kate was admitted to the same hospital where she gave birth to her older children -- Prince George, four, and Princess Charlotte, two.

In an official statement released by the Kensington Palace, it has been confirmed that the Duchess of Cambridge safely delivered the newest prince at 11:01 a.m. It was also noted that the royal baby weighs 8lbs 7oz.

Prince William, who was present for the birth, reportedly did not miss any second of the momentous event and stayed by his wife's side. Kate and her newborn son are both doing well.

Meanwhile, Kensington Palace further announced that the arrival of the new baby brought delight to the royal family. Apparently, The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry as well as the Middletons have been informed about it and couldn't wait to meet the newest addition to their growing family.

A future King was born

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's third child automatically becomes fifth in line to the British throne after Prince Charles, Prince William, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte. He is also expected to bump his uncle, Prince Harry, to sixth in line.

The baby boy's arrival comes just days after members of the royal family gathered to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II's 92nd birthday at London's Royal Albert Hall on Saturday.

Kate was noticeably absent during the said event as she prepares for her due date.

Meanwhile, the baby's birth also comes just a few weeks ahead of Princess Charlotte's third birthday on May 2 and a few months before Prince George's fifth birthday on July 22.

It is also a double celebration for the Middletons as it was previously reported that Kate's younger sister, Pippa, is expecting her first child with her husband, James Matthews.

Royal fans eager to meet the new prince

Just like her previous pregnancies, a group of devoted royal fans have been camping outside the hospital as early as April 9 in anticipation of the newest prince's birth. Local and international media were also stationed in front of the Lindo Wing as they await the first public appearance of the couple's baby boy.

Interestingly, the Duchess of Cambridge's hairdresser, Amanda Cook Tucker, was spotted leaving the hospital, sparking speculations that she may have already prepared to introduce her third baby to the world.

So far, no word yet as to what name Prince William and Kate Middleton will give their new prince. However, it is expected to be announced soon.
