When a fire broke out this past weekend at the Trump Tower in New York City, the on-again, off-again boyfriend of "Real Housewives of New York City" Cast Member Bethenny Frankel was present. According to a new report, Dennis Shields was in the high-rise on Saturday when the shocking fire that took the life of another resident began.

On April 8, Radar Online shared details about how Frankel's banker boyfriend learned about the tragedy and was able to escape unharmed. As the report explained, Shields didn't initially know what was happening at the building but after getting a call from Michael Cohen, attorney to President Donald Trump, alerting him to vacate the building as soon as possible, he quickly got out.

Dennis Shields lives on the 42nd floor of The Trump Tower

Radar Online revealed that Bethenny Frankel's on-again, off-again boyfriend currently resides on the 42nd floor of the pricey building. During an interview with the New York Times, Shields explained that he was phoned by Cohen, a childhood friend, who asked, "Are you in the building?" "I said, ”Yes.” He said, ”You better get out ASAP.’" According to Shields, he wouldn't have vacated the building if it weren't for his friend's call. Describing the scene to the outlet, Shields said that he could smell the smoke from the fire and also heard things falling through the vents.

“It just smelled like sulfur,” he explained.

During the blaze, art dealer Todd Brassner found himself caught in the fire and after being transported to a local hospital, he sadly lost his life.

Bassner was a friend of the late Andy Warhol. He was living in apartment 50C, where the fire allegedly started around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 7.

What's going on with Bethenny Frankel and Dennis Shields?

Earlier this year, following a split last year, an insider told Radar Online that the longtime "Real Housewives of New York City" star continued to spend time with Dennis Shields.

That said, she wasn't on board with his alleged desire to tie the knot. Instead, an insider said Frankel doesn't want to put any particular label on her current relationship with the Big Apple banker.
