Blockbuster season is nearly upon us. No, not the time where we wax nostalgic about the movie/video game rental store; that should constantly be happening. The time where the Film season ratchets up with the help of some superheroes and box office superstars.

There's enough action, adventure, and thrills to bring even the most skeptical moviegoer to the theater this spring. So what should you go see? Here are the five blockbusters you just can't miss before the summer.

5. 'Super Troopers 2'

This sequel has been destined for almost two decades. The original blockbuster, which came out 17 years ago, is considered a cult classic.

A ragtag group of state troopers are tasked with protecting the border, with less than stellar results. The Broken Lizard troupe is back together, with Rob Lowe and Jim Gaffigan among the funny men popping their heads in. [April 20]

4. 'Rampage'

Dwayne Johnson has made a habit of popping up in blockbusters, from "San Andreas" to the recent "Jumanji" remake. This one may be less intellectual, if that's even possible. A gorilla he once cared for becomes evil and tries to destroy a city. Oh, and there's a mutated alligator/crocodile thing too. This film is for the crowd that appreciates unadulterated action, with little else in the way. [April 20]

3. 'Solo: A Star Wars Story'

The "Star Wars" fan in all of us has reason to be concerned.

The production of this film has come with turmoil and a directorial change, installing Ron Howard in the chief chair. Additionally, the trailers have been less than promising. Still, it's a "Star Wars" movie, and we're all going to see the blockbuster, for better or worse. Even the worst "Star Wars" movie is better than some of the drivel out there.

2. 'Deadpool 2'

The first "Deadpool" made waves for its brash humor, as well as the acting from Ryan Reynolds. There's no reason to expect anything less from the sequel, although there's a lot to live up to. Zazie Beatz and Terry Crews will lend their unique comedic sensibilities to the forthcoming blockbuster, while Josh Brolin steps in as the villainous Cable.

1. 'Avengers: Infinity War'

This is the blockbuster all film fans are waiting for. We've been promised the be-all, end-all superhero film, combining the forces of all of the characters in the MCU to date. Hopefully it's still fun and not overwhelming to be exposed to so many pivotal figures. This movie should shatter box office records. [April 27]
