When you're a Kardashian, it matters what's in the headlines, especially when you or your family are in it. The "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" reality stars are their own businesswomen and branding is highly important to them.
Kim has her KKW cosmetics line, Khloe has her Good American clothing line, Kendall and Kylie have a joint clothing line, and Kylie has her own makeup line. Most recently, the reality TV empire saw new additions to the family with Kim's surrogate finally giving birth to a baby girl, Chicago.
Kylie Jenner, who remained mum about her pregnancy for about seven months, also came out to say that she finally gave birth to a baby girl.
She also took time before she revealed that her daughter's name is Stormi Webster. But just as soon as she made the name known, many people on the Internet commented that "Stormi" is a stripper or porn star name. To make matters even worse, a real-life adult actress named Stormy Daniels came forward about her previous affair with President Donald Trump. What a PR nightmare for Jenner!
Is Kylie Jenner seeking damage control?
Surely, one would point out that there are differences between Kylie Jenner's daughter's name and Stormy Daniels.' After all, Stormi Webster is spelled with an 'i' instead of a 'y.' However, the two names verbally sound exactly the same, which is why there will be some confusion, especially with Jenner, who banks on her branding to bring in the cash.
An insider told Hollywood Life that Jenner is upset that people are associating her baby daughter with a porn star and talking about how her baby has a "porn star name." The insider said, "In no way was her daughter named after Stormy Daniels, Kylie is hoping that Stormy will be out of the news soon...It's bothering Kylie that people would even dare connect the two."
Stormy Daniels responds to chatter about her moniker
While Stormy Daniels has been in the headlines over the past few weeks due to her alleged affair with President Donald Trump, she did take the time to respond to the news about her sharing the same name as Kylie Jenner's daughter, Stormi Webster.
She told TMZ that her message to Jenner and her baby daddy Travis Scott, was, "I will say congratulations...and I wish her the best. And hang on to your heart, because little girls named Stormi are known to cause trouble." She also added that "Stormy" is a "tough name to live up to" and she hopes that the Jenner-Webster baby grows up to be "fierce." Both Jenner and Scott have not publicly commented on Daniels' statements just yet.
