Uma Thurman, Ethan Hawke's daughter joins season 3 cast

Netflix headed to Twitter on Friday to make the announcement, saying that Maya is on her way to Hawkins, Ind.

in the role of an "alternative girl" by the name of Robin. Netflix said “alternative girl” is a literal character description for the role and that viewers should get ready for “some angst.”

Ethan Hawke proud of daughter Maya

People magazine interviewed Ethan Hawke back in January, who told them how proud he is of his daughter Maya, shared with his former wife, Uma Thurman.

Maya is not new to acting, as she currently stars in a BBC adaption of “Little Women” as Jo March. Ironically, that role was previously played by Winona Ryder, an old friend of Ethan’s and who also stars in the Netflix show “Stranger Things.”

Speaking of his daughter, Ethan said Maya has always been an artist and loves writing poems and singing, but only discovered acting when in her junior year of high school.

Commenting on her role in “Little Women,” Hawke said it was an amazing moment in his life to watch her and that she did a really great job. He said he was proud to see his daughter thriving in a profession he respects and has dedicated his life to.

Priah Ferguson gets recurring role in ‘Stranger Things’

Priah Ferguson appeared in a guest role in the second season of “Stranger Things” as Lucas’ little sister, Erica.

The Duffer Brothers will return as the showrunners and executive producers of “Stranger Things,” which recently won a nomination as best ensemble in a drama series at the Screen Actors Guild Awards.
