At the end of, "The Walking Dead," Season 8, Episode 7, we saw that the Sanctuary had been cleared of walkers. It remains to be seen how they managed to do that, but Negan and the Saviors did escape, and they are now most likely on their way to Alexandria Safe-Zone to seek revenge against Rick and his group.
With that being said, there's no doubt that the mid-Season Finale, next week, will feature a battle we've all been waiting for since the beginning of the season. And to make matters even more interesting, AMC just announced that the episode would have a big moment everyone is going to talk about.
And you don't have to be a hard-core fan to know that, the "big moment" in "The Walking Dead," is just another way of saying "the big shocking death." So with all that in mind, let's talk about who might die in the mid-season finale.
The big spoiler
Ever since "The Walking Dead" Season 8 premiere, a certain spoiler has been floating around the Internet, and it has to do with Carl Grimes. Apparently, he was seen on the set filming a scene that was taking place at nighttime, all covered in blood with knives surrounding him. That, as well as a couple of tweets and images of Chandler Riggs, the actor who portraits Carl, with the new haircut that was posted a week after they wrapped filming, made a lot of fans believe that Carl will die in the mid-season finale.
You can check that out in the tweet down below.

How would this be possible?
Apart from Carl's death being the huge departure from the comics, there's another problem with this theory since we saw Carl in old-man Rick flashforward from Season 8 premiere.
But this could have been a dream, for all we know. It certainly felt like one. After all, Rick was seeing dead people before, so this wouldn't be the first time.
Also, in the teaser preview for the next week episode, Carl can be seen saying: "All we've got to do is survive the night," a line that sounds pretty ominous (see the clip down below).
But does it mean that something horrible is going to happen to Carl? If he does die, that would definitely explain Rick's tears from yet another Season 8 premiere flashforward.
What's the alternative?
In conclusion, we can say that there's a very strong possibility that Carl might die in the mid-season finale. But there are also other candidates such as Judith, an idea that we explored in one of our previous articles. You can click here to find out more about that.
