Fans are eagerly waiting to find out what will happen in "Vikings" Season 5. However, there has been no official confirmation coming from the side of the show-runners or History Channel as such. To compensate for this, fans have been reassured that the show will have twists and turns in the upcoming episodes. In fact, even the cast members have, on several occasions, hinted toward the same.

What do reports suggest regarding 'Vikings' Season 5?

Now, a new report published by IBTimes, Katheryn Winnick of "Vikings" seemed to have teased the fans some more by stating that there’s big news regarding the show coming soon.

This has led many to assume that there is a high possibility that the show’s premiere date might finally be announced in the coming days. Katheryn Winnick, who plays the role of Lagertha on "Vikings," took to her official Instagram account to post a selfie of herself, along with a caption that suggested that there is big news regarding the show that is going to come soon. She further stated that the "Vikings" team is now "finishing up," with what is assumed to be the upcoming season.

"Vikings" Season 5 debuts on November 29. The storyline is going to be filled with multiple shocks and surprises. Several main characters will be seen dead in the upcoming season of "Vikings." For example, the king himself is no longer expected to be a part of the show.

Fans will also be seeing a lot of new faces in the upcoming season.

More regarding the story

Since Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel) is no longer in the picture, the fifth season of "Vikings" will possibly be focusing on his sons. Bjorn Ironside (Alexander Ludwig) is going to be seen exploring the Mediterranean and eventually ending up becoming the king of Sweden.

Ivar The Boneless will also be seen playing a prominent role in the upcoming season of "Vikings." Another character that will be seen getting "Vikings" together with Ivar and the Great Heathen Army is King Aethelred. There is also a high possibility that Ivar the Boneless might be killed off in the upcoming season. An entire episode could be dedicated to this particular storyline and a wonderful story that narrates the tales of his burial place could occupy most of the time on-screen.

It still remains to be seen what exactly will be taking place, especially with regards to "Vikings" and its fifth season. However, something promising is certainly expected.
