After months of speculation as to why Lady Sif and Thor's other best Asgardian buds aren't in the upcoming "Thor: Ragnarok," Jaimie Alexander is speaking out. Contrary to what some may think, it merely came down to a conflict of schedule in filming the Marvel blockbuster. The 33-year old actress is currently starring in the NBC crime drama, "Blindspot," as Remi/Jane Doe. The series just launched its third season, and Alexander was fully committed to the show, preventing her to attend to other projects when Marvel approached her to reprise her role as Lady Sif in "Thor: Ragnarok." Here's what she had to say about it.

Jaimie Alexander shares there was a 'short notice'

Actress Jaimie Alexander told Yahoo! Entertainment that Marvel approached her with a short notice on "Thor: Ragnarok." The actress, who played Lady Sif in both "Thor" and "Thor: The Dark World," shared that the filming schedule for the Taika Waititi-directed Marvel film coincided with the filming of "Blindspot," which was why there was a conflict. She added that "I was hoping for more of a notice from [the studio], so I could make it work, but it was a short notice thing. They called and said, ‘Hey, by the way, would you come do this?’ I said there is no way I can make that work that fast."

Actress has no hard feelings against production

Despite the absence of Jaimie Alexander's Lady Sif in "Thor: Ragnarok," the actress harbors no bad blood against Marvel and director Taika Waititi.

In fact, she already expressed how excited she was to see the new crew supporting Thor in his journey to defeat Cate Blanchett's Hela, the Goddess of Death. While the film brings back Tom Hiddleston's Loki and Mark Ruffalo's Dr. Banner/The Hulk, it will also introduce Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie.

'The Revengers' adds Valkyrie

Lady Sif's absence in "Thor: Ragnarok" is somehow remedied by the fact that there is still female representation in the film.

For one, the upcoming Taika Waititi-directed movie introduces the first ever female Marvel villain in the MCU, Hela. It also introduces Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie, who teams up with Thor to battle Cate Blanchett's Hela. Thompson recently spoke to Comic Book, describing Valkyrie as an "ex-pat" who's hanging out in Sakaar because "she is no longer with her tribe of Valkyrie." That's where she meets Thor and Hulk, with whom she "[shares] a similar goal," and eventually become "teammates in a way," in a group Thor calls "The Revengers." Get to know Valkyrie when "Thor: Ragnarok" premieres on November 3.
