"Suits" star Meghan Markle told her show's producers that she's quitting after season 7. The 36-year-old star, who plays the paralegal Rachel Zane, apparently decided to give up her acting career because she's about to become a member of the royal family.
A source revealed to The Daily Mail that since Prince Harry cannot realistically move to Toronto, then she has to be the one to make way. Meghan Markle, a native of Los Angeles, has been living in the Canadian city since working on "Suits" in 2011 but the source said that she's ready to make the sacrifice for her future husband.
House-hunting in England
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have also been reportedly house-hunting in Cotsworld as part of starting their new life together as husband and wife. The location is at least an hour's drive from London, and it's also where Prince Charles’ Highgrove estate is situated.
Though the couple has not publicly confirmed their engagement, royal watchers speculated that Prince Harry asked for his girlfriend’s hand in marriage last summer while they went on a trip to Botswana. Rumors about the couple getting married further sparked when the actress canceled her car lease with Audi because she will no longer be needing it in a few months.
December announcement, spring wedding
Royal watchers also believe that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will make an official announcement by December followed by a small and private spring wedding, according to Bride.
The timing will be just right for Markle, who should be done with her obligations on “Suits” by November.
The “Suits” star and Prince Harry have been dating for at least 18 months, but it took them awhile to acknowledge the relationship publicly. Before falling in love with each other Markle used to be married to actor Trevor Engelson until their divorce in 2013.
The prince, on the other hand, dated Chelsy Davy for five years and Cressida Bonas for two years.
Season 8 renewal
Meanwhile, USA Network has not yet renewed “Suits” for season 8. The show finished airing the first half of season 7 last September. Creator Aaron Korsh told Deadline that as far as he's concerned "Suits" will get a renewal for one more season but most of the cast are actually up for contract negotiations.
Korsh hinted, however, that Meghan Markle's character will end up getting married to Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams) on "Suits." Viewers will be able to watch the episode when the show returns for the second half of season 7 around February. There will be six more episodes left.
