The executive producer of "Riverdale" has been teasing snippets of the show's second season. The latest topic of discussion was the relationship between fan favorites Jughead and Betty Cooper. The couple got together in the first season of the show, but Aguirre-Sacasa has teased that their relationship may not last through the events of Season 2.

Their relationship will see a divide

According to Digital Spy, the executive producer of "Riverdale" has confirmed that fan favorite couple Jughead and Betty Cooper will be encountering difficult times in their relationship.

Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa has likened their relationship to that of Romeo and Juliet and fans are immensely worried for the couple.

In a report by Just Jared, Aguirre-Sacasa confirmed that Jughead's new relationships with the Southside Serpents would cause tension between himself and Betty. It has been confirmed that Jughead will be attending Southside High for the majority of the second season, and this space will not be good for him and Betty.

Now that Jughead will be located on the Southside, it makes it more difficult for him to keep avoiding the Serpents. Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa has confirmed that Jughead will be going through a dark journey in the second season and that this will lead to complications as far as Betty is concerned.

Fans will have their hearts torn out

According to Entertainment Weekly, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa has confirmed that "Bughead" fans will have their hearts played within the second season of "Riverdale." Betty and Jughead's relationship will not be the only source of problems in the season's return, as Jughead will be made to face decisions, which include life and death.

The second season of "Riverdale" is taking a much darker route than the first season, as it will see many of the characters dealing with personal loss and revenge. Archie Andrews will be hunting down the man who shot his father while Jughead tries to get his own father out of jail.

In the most recent trailer of the show, it appears that Cheryl Blossom has gone insane as she embraces her horrifically scarred mother.

As fans of "Riverdale" will already know, Cheryl was responsible for the fire which caused her mother’s injuries, and it appears that things are set to get much creepier and much darker.

Fans are extremely worried for the future of Jughead and Betty's relationship, and have taken to social media to express their distress at these new revelations.
