More recent photos and videos from the set of the upcoming “Ant-Man & the Wasp” have revealed the film’s new villain – Ghost.
Noticias Geek TV has posted a video from the set showing the Wasp fighting against Ghost.
Who is Ghost
Ghost may be the film’s main villain, or she could be one of the film’s villains. Ghost first appeared in “Iron Man” 219 back in 1987. Although primarily seen as Iron Man’s villain, he is also seen fighting against other heroes in the Marvel Universe.
He is a male tech-powered villain who wears a special suit which allows him, and anything he is holding, to turn invisible and intangible (though not at the same time) – thus the name ‘Ghost’. Being a skilled inventor and hacker, he was able to design an advanced suit that granted him his powers. He also devised his suit to enable him to hack and reprogram different electronic systems and is armed with bombs and grenades.
He is a former IT worker with strong anti-capitalist views, believing corporations destroyed his life. He targets and destroys large powerful tech-companies, like Stark Industries. Sometimes, he is hired as a mercenary by large businesses to destroy their competition. Other times, he chooses which companies to destroy.
Although Ghost was originally a male character, in “Ant-Man & the Wasp,” Ghost will be a female villain to be played by Hannah John-Kamen.
It is still unsure if Ghost is working by herself or is hired by another powerful person, like the tech-mogul Sonny Burch, to be played by Walton Goggins.
Sequel details
Payton Reed will be directing the upcoming “Ant-Man” sequel. Paul Rudd returns as Scott Lang / Ant-Man, and co-starring with him is Evangeline Lilly as Hope van Dyne / The Wasp.
Michael Douglas and Michael Peña are also reprising their roles as Hank Pym and Luis.
Marvel producer, Kevin Feige, announced during SDCC 2017 that Michelle Pfeiffer will be joining the film as Janet van Dyne or the original Wasp and Hank Pym’s wife. Other new characters are Dr. Bill Foster / Black Goliath to be played by Laurence Fishburne, and Agent Jimmy Woo to be played by Randall Park.
The film will focus on Scott struggling to rebalance his life and responsibilities as a hero and father, and the aftermath from “Captain America: Civil War,” where Ant-Man fought alongside Captain America. It is also likely that the film will focus on locating Janet van Dyne.
According to Hank, she disappeared into the Quantum Realm to diffuse a bomb that was about to hit the city.
In the first “Ant-Man” film, Scott figured out a way to return to original size after being in the Quantum Realm himself. This discovery could prompt Hope and Hank to locate and bring back Janet.
“Ant-Man & the Wasp” is planned for release on July 6, 2018.
