The Jon Snow that we know in “Game of Thrones” is a fine-looking young man of Winterfell before he was sent to The Wall as one of the Night’s Watch. His Lord father Eddard “Ned” Stark loved him like his son although we already know that he’s not his bastard but his nephew. The show itself confirmed that to us that he is the trueborn son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark, therefore making him the rightful heir to the Iron Throne. When he was resurrected from the dead, we all thought he’s back to being a normal person, but a recent theory suggests that he is immortal and this might play a significant role in their battle against the White Walkers.
Is Jon Snow immortal?
A recent “Game of Thrones” theory by Digital Spy suggests that Jon Snow is in fact, immortal when Melisandre resurrected him from the dead despite that she wasn’t sure if she will be able to. Fortunately, she did, and we didn’t lose Ned’s supposed bastard son (but not anymore). When he was hailed as the Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch, some of his people questioned his decision about the Wildlings. As a result, some of them conspired to kill him and they succeeded but thanks to Melisandre he now has the chance to face the Night King and the army of the dead.
During “Game of Thrones” Season 7 Episode 6, Jon Snow and his guys set off on a mission to seize at least one White Walker to show it to Cersei Lannister that the undead is real.
They succeeded, but it didn’t come easy especially that they were surrounded by the army of the dead and their king. They struggled to escape the zombies, where Jon was dragged down by the wights into the cold lake. Yes, we all thought he drowned and dead once again. However, after some dragging minutes of we-all-think-Jon-is-dead, he suddenly popped out just in time when Daenerys Targaryen and the guys flee from the zombie-filled area.
How did Jon survive underwater?
So, why is Jon still alive after spending some time underwater without any gears so he can breathe or something? In that episode of “Game of Thrones,” Jon managed to make his way up from the freezing waters of the lake despite wearing that super-heavy fur, leather, and iron. Apparently, a normal person can’t do just that especially that the water was freezing.
So, does that mean that he is immortal or maybe with a superpower? The answer might be, yes, given the fact that he was only resurrected from the dead.
If he is immortal and ice resistant, then “Game of Thrones” Season 8 will deliver an ice-filled battle between ice dragon Viserion and the Night King with the army of the dead. We never know he might survive! Why not!
