While many are still occupied with Taylor Swift's newest music video, "Look What You Made Me Do," Selena Gomez' Instagram account was hacked. Known to be one of the most followed celebrities on Instagram, it didn't take long before the fans discovered the hacking incident.
Additionally, the photos posted by the hacker(s) were also shocking in their own right - nude pictures of Gomez' ex-boyfriend, Justin Bieber. According to Entertainment Online, the hacked account was taken down soon after the nude photos of Bieber were posted online. The photos were taken from the "Purpose" singer's vacation in 2015.
Within just a few minutes, Selena Gomez' Instagram account was already back with no trace of nude pics of Justin Bieber. However, some netizens were fast enough to grab screenshots.
Did Justin Bieber know about the hacking incident or was it just pure coincidence?
According to E! Online, some eagle-eyed fans were wondering if Justin Bieber knew about the hacking incident ahead of everyone else because at around the same time that fans discovered the nude photos on Gomez' Instagram, the "Sorry" singer posted a video of himself looking all sad and grim on his Instagram stories. Of course, it could just be pure coincidence, but the speculations remain afloat.
However, this is not actually the first time that those nude photos surfaced on the internet.
In fact, it was the same set of nude photos that were published without his consent taken on his 2015 trip to Bora Bora. During that time, he was on vacation with his then lady love, Jayde Pierce.
2015 nude feels
When the nude photos of Bieber were published without his consent in 2015, he said that he felt super violated and that his privacy should have been respected. Fast forward to now, and it looks like it's 2015 all over again. To make it worse, it was posted on his ex-girlfriend's Instagram account. The fact that Selena Gomez is the most followed celebrity on Instagram as of writing also plays a big factor in the re-exposure of Bieber's nude photos from Bora Bora. The identity of the hacker(s) remains unknown as of writing.
Things are more complicated now, considering that Gomez is currently in a relationship with Abel Tesfaye, also known as The Weeknd. Fans are worried that the constant linking of Gomez and Bieber might put a strain on her relationship with Tesfaye. Reps for Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber, and The Weeknd have yet to comment on the issue.
