"Return To Amish" stars Jeremiah Raber and Carmela Raber have called it quits, three months after separating due to domestic violence. Jeremiah filed a divorce from his wife last week.
Jeremiah says he finally got smart
In a Periscope video, Jeremiah revealed that he and wife Carmela are finally calling it quits after months of trying to fix their marriage. He said that he finally got smart and told Carmela to get out of his house, as reported by Radar Online. "I'm done with her," he said. "I’m proud to say I stood up and kicked her out."
Jeremiah was arrested in late April after a heated fight with Carmela.
She called the police and showed the responding officers several bruises on her legs and arms. She said her husband attacked her with a closed fist. Jeremiah issued a public apology after he was released from the prison, although he did not directly admit that he hurt his wife physically. He said he was sorry for his poor behavior and lack of respect for Carmela.
While Jeremiah admitted he made mistakes, he said the truth would come out in the end. He said Carmela also has faults, and he has evidence that would prove it. Carmela later admitted that she has her own issues which she needed to address. They decided to go through personal counseling to be better and then work on fixing their marriage together once they have addressed their individual issues.

What went wrong?
While dealing with their own issues, Jeremiah and Carmela agreed to remain separated after Carmela returned to Florida. Back then, they were very positive that they can get through this tough time because they married for the long term and both want to live the family life they dreamed of, as The Inquisitr reported.
"Return to Amish" fans mostly sided with Carmela and even encouraged her not to go back to Jeremiah.
Now, it was not clear what led them to finally decide to get a divorce. Jeremiah said in his video that Carmela always lies and plays the victim. In her own Facebook post, which was already deleted, Carmela responded to Jeremiah's accusation, saying that her life was a living nightmare in the past years.
She lost her home and belongings, as well as her self-esteem. She refused to get into details, saying that remembering what happened is painful. Instead, she wants to look forward and move on.
