Thousands of fans are now jubilant for the upcoming premiere of the “NCIS” Season 15 this fall on CBS. Now, recent reports are claiming that Michael Weatherly could possibly reprise his role as special agent Anthony DiNozzo Jr. in the next installment.
Is Agent Tony officially back in the fifteenth season?
TV Line reported that two former characters of the CBS series are reprising their role in the imminent “NCIS” Season 15. The news outlet confirmed that Robert Wagner Jr. and Joe Spano, who play the roles of Anthony DiNozzo Sr. and Tobias Fornell, respectively, are going to appear in the next season.
Series showrunner Frank Cardea revealed that the two characters are set to return in the fifteenth installment to complete their corresponding missions. However, it remains to be seen if DiNozzo Sr. and Fornell would appear together in one episode or not.
Since Robert Wagner Jr. and Joe Spano were confirmed returning in “NCIS” Season 15, a number of fans are also hopeful that Michael Weatherly would also decide to make a return. It can be recalled that the 49-year-old “JAG” star broke the hearts of many after he decided to depart from the show in January 2016.

Initially, viewers are still clueless as to what could be the reason behind the actor’s shocking exit. However, it was later learned that Michael Weatherly landed a lead role in another CBS series titled “Bull.”
While some fans think that Weatherly’s return is needed to save the show’s plummeting ratings, there are also rumors claiming that Tony DiNozzo Jr.
has to reunite with the rest of the cast since “NCIS” Season 15 is the show’s final installment, People Choice reported.
While these reports could possibly be true, it should be noted that nothing is confirmed until now. Hence, fans of the upcoming “NCIS” Season 15 should take these speculations with a grain of salt.
Leroy Jethro Gibbs and Timothy McGee’s fate finally revealed
Meanwhile, Entertainment Weekly shared a photo of Mark Harmon and Sean Murray, which revealed the fate of their characters in the series’ forthcoming fifteenth installment. The said image suggested that Leroy Jethro Gibbs and Timothy McGee have been captured by the rebels who attacked them while saving the kids.
The publication added that other members of their team do not know anything about where Gibbs and McGee ended up. However, spoilers have it that the two would be able to survive the ordeal in Paraguay and they will be reunited with their loved ones.
