"When It Rains It Pours" Music Video
In his song and music video for “When It Rains It Pours,” Combs’ significant other gets mad at him, and leaves him in the aftermath of a party he had the night before.
He then takes a drive a few days later, buys a scratch off ticket, beer and a tank of gas, wins a vacation after calling into a radio station, and being the lucky caller, is given a waitress’s phone number, finds a new found love and wins prizes in a raffle, after spending $5 at the Moose Club, including a used four-wheeler, and passes to play a round of golf with some friends, hence the term, phrase, and song, and music video title “When It Rains It Rains Pours.”
Album Promotion
Luke Combs has been intelligently promoting his first album on social media, particularly via Twitter: “My new music video for "When It Rains It Pours" is out today on @Vevo! Yall take a look and tell me what ya think,” Combs said in a Twitter post on Tuesday, August 15, 2017.
Combs also did one of the smartest album promotion techniques that a singer could do, by tweeting about the album’s release on Twitter, the day before the album came out, and adding a graphic-interchange-format photo of a scene from his “When It Rains It Pours” music video. That feeling when you know the “When It Rains It Pours” music video is out tomorrow!” he said.
Combs also posted a GIF photo in the same Twitter post that showed confetti falling down on him when he is at the gas station buying the scratch off ticket, beer and a tank of gas.
