Batman On Film released reports that the scenes of actor Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor will not be shown in the “Justice League” movie. A comment on the website said that the cameo appearance of Eisenberg has been removed from the Warner Bros film.
Lex Luthor is one of Superman's villains, and was portrayed by Eisenberg in the previous movie franchises. In the “Justice League” movie, Lex Luthor would have appeared toward the end of the film, according to reports. But it has been suggested that his scenes will be removed after the re-shoots and changes with director Joss Whedon.
Whedon took over the post-production duties for the upcoming movie in May 2017, Cosmic Book News and The Hollywood Reporter stated. “Justice League”will be shown in cinemas worldwide in November 2017.
Batman On Film's ElDuderino posted a comment that revealed about the alleged scene cut. The user said that Lex Luthor’s cameo appearance, along with those of Deathstroke and Darkseid, was cut during post-production.
“I would like to say that from what I have been hearing lately about the movie and all the cuts, the more I’m hating what these things say. I start to get irritated because these were the little details I wanted to watch,” ElDuderino wrote.
Connection of Ben Affleck
Cosmic Book News further looked into the rumor, and found out some interesting connections.
The website stated that one of the reasons of the alleged removal of the scene is that of Ben Affleck turning down the directorial job for “The Batman.”
“Joe Manganiello is the actor to portray Deathstroke in Affleck’s ‘The Batman’ and he also appeared in ‘Justice League.’ There is a theory going around that Deathstroke is involved with Lex Luthor, But since Affleck is no longer directing ‘The Batman,’ and with Matt Reeves writing the script, Deathstroke is cut from ‘The Batman’,” Cosmic Book News stated.
Because the character of Deathstroke will reportedly be out of the DC movie universe, Lex Luthor – the character that has connections with him – will also be cut, especially in “Justice League.” The article further went on saying that the directors of the film might have felt that Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor was not an important part of the story.
Coming soon
“Justice League” is soon hitting theaters worldwide. Fans and viewers are going to see actors Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa and Ezra Miller reprise their favorite superheroes in the DC universe.
