SM Entertainment biggest South Korean idol girl group is finally going to make a return to the music scene. Girls’ Generation is set to release their new, and sixth, album this week and kick off the promotions for their comeback.

Girls' Generation is back on ‘Running Man’

With a new album on the way and the group celebrating their tenth anniversary since their debut, the girls have already set up various ways to catch up with their fans. The famous K-Pop group has confirmed that they will be appearing on the highly popular South Korean variety program called Running Man.”

This will be the third time that all the members of Girls’ Generation will appear as guests in the said show.

The girls are some of the several regular and favorite guests of the show since they always make the set lively and interesting.

The girls' first full appearance was four years ago when former member Jessica Jung was still part of the group. Jessica is the first member and also one of the first guests to ever appear on "Running Man."

As revealed in the preview for their guest appearance for “Running Man,” it seems like the members will be undertaking a school concept as all of them as well as the hosts of the said program are wearing high school uniforms. The girls are ready to shed off their idol image to show their fun sides once again.

In addition to the school theme, it looks like they will also be holding a horror special as spooky segments of the show were teased.

The "Running Man" special episode starring Girls' Generation has been scheduled to air on August 13.

Upcoming comeback and album details

The broadcast date of the said episode is days after the said girl group kick off their official comeback. SM Entertainment has announced that they will be releasing their new and sixth album called “Holiday Night” on August 7.

However, the digital version and the music videos will be released earlier, specifically on August 4 at 6 PM (KST).

The new full album, “Holiday Night” will consist of ten new songs, which will include the two new title tracks, “All Night” and “Holiday.” It has been two years since Girls’ Generation released a new album so fans are highly anticipating the comeback of the decade.

The girl group, who also goes by the name SNSD, released their last album “Lion Heart” in August 2015. Since then, the members have been busy with their individual projects with some taking on acting roles while the others such as Kim Taeyeon, Kim Hyoyeon, Tiffany Hwang, and Seohyun have made their debut as solo artists.
