Kesha’s mother, Rosemary Patricia Sebert, who gave the song to Dolly Parton several years ago, originally wrote the song. Parton recorded the song for her album "Dolly Dolly Dolly" back in the 1980's and has recently collaborated with Kesha for the stars newest album.
Kesha has stated that the song has always been very important for her family and that she always wanted to perform it with Dolly Parton. Kesha stated that it always seemed like a ridiculous dream to say out loud and has expressed her amazement that she finally got to see her dream come true.
