Aaron Carter has stepped out to explain his decision to come out as bisexual a few days ago. Shortly after he announced the truth about his sexuality, it was also revealed that Aaron Carter has broken up with his girlfriend, Madison Parker, whom he dated for over a year.

An insider confirmed to ET Online that the couple have called it quits a week before the singer opened up about his preference on social media.

Aaron Carter also addressed the separation to a Twitter follower and clarified that the separation was respectful and assured that all is well between him and Madison Parker. The singer also thanked his fans for the outpouring of support since he came out as bisexual.

On Wednesday, the "Fool's Gold" singer graced an interview with "The Bert Show" radio program to talk about his decision to come out after his separation from his longtime girlfriend.

Aaron Carter thought it was about time that finally reveal the truth before he opens a new chapter in his life when he turns 30 in December. “To be honest, I’ve been thinking about it for many years,” he said as per EW.

Carter recalls his early realization of his sexuality

He went on to reveal that his relationship with Madison Parker has something to do with his decision to come out.

“I had discussed it with my ex-girlfriend, and she didn’t really understand it, and she didn’t want [to]. And that was it! So we left it mutual and parted ways," he explained.

Aaron Carter shared that he was 12 years old when he realized that he was bisexual but added that it was until he had his first same-sex relationship at the age of 17 that he finally acknowledged that he was attracted to both Men And Women.

When asked about his decision to finally open up about his sexuality at this age, the singer explained that the process of coming out relies entirely on the person's preparedness. “The process is at your own pace and when you feel comfortable,” he said.

The singer knew that some people may not agree with his decision to come out as bisexual, he, however, was surprised when his fans stood by him and showed him their all-out support. As a single man, Aaron Carter does not mind if his next relationship will be with a man or woman. “I find men and women attractive, and that’s never gonna change," he mused.
