‘Flip or Flop’ stars Tarek and Christina El Moussa continue to bring excitement and entertainment to the fans of their show. The ex-couple's first episode together as co-hosts after their much-publicized divorce still rates high as before.
The El Moussa ex-couple hosts new season of 'Flip or Flop'
Tarek El Moussa and his ex-wife did not want to leave their fans in limbo as to how the show will run after the divorce. They agreed to continue hosting the show trying hard to retain its entertainment and educational value despite their separation.
The arrangement worked.
In the episode titled “Infringing Flip”, the hosts had a disagreement as to the design of the kitchen peninsula and the bathroom floors. Christina who went to the tile supplier with her daughter Taylor opted for a navy-and-white chevron tiles as reported by the Realtor.
Tarek entered the kitchen while Christina was installing the tile and he said that what she did was quite interesting. When she asked if he likes the look of the tile, he said that they look busy and cannot decide whether he likes it or not.
The mother of two said that the kitchen of the house they bought in Garden Grove, CA. was too simple and she decided to put in the chevron tiles for dramatic effect. Tarek asked if they could change it to plain white.
Christina insisted on her choice. The couple did some other changes to the entire house until it was ready for disposal.
The price decided by Tarek on the newly-renovated house was $599,900. Christina found the price too high but did not disagree with her ex-husband. The house was sold and the couple made a profit of $76,000 out of their total investment of $523,300.
'Flip or Flop' helped Tarek and Christina El Moussa recover from business losses
‘Flip or Flop’ was the former couple’s lifeboat that saved them from the depths of bankruptcy. When the real estate market went down in the 2000s, the couple experienced losses. They recovered by flipping houses until they were offered to appear on the HGTV show.
The pair succeeded in redeeming their business but was unable to save their marriage. Tarek filed for divorce from his wife in January. The incident that led to the divorce was when he stormed out of their home after an argument with a gun. Christina called the police but later it was found out that her ex-husband just went into some hunting spree to relax. Cheating on the part of Christina with their pool contractor Gary Anderson was reportedly part of the reason why they split. Health issues also took a toll on their marriage.
Tarek and Christina El Moussa’s tandem still works. For Christina, it could be her stepping to more TV shows. According to Christian Post, the real estate investor is being eyed by Bravo to be cast in “The Real Housewives of Orange County.”
