Irish actress revealed what fans should expect in the Jamie-Claire reunion
Speaking to Elle Magazine, Caitriona Balfe has shared that fans of the popular STARZ series would be having mixed emotions in the imminent “Outlander” Season 3. According to Sam Heughan’s leading lady, the reunion of Jamie and Claire is going to be awkward.
Balfe stated that the separation of the lead characters would greatly affect their relationship as several things have happened to them while they live away from one another. "I think Claire and Jamie have both had each other on pedestals for 20 years. So when you finally see the object of your love and desire again in the flesh, it throws out everything you thought you would do,” the 37-year-old star said.
While Jamie and Claire’s get-together would be different from their fantasies, Caitriona Balfe teased that their love would find a way to reconnect them with each other again. The on-screen partner of Sam Heughan even stated that things would get sexier in the later episodes, Goldderby reported.
For starters, “Outlander” Season 3 is said to focus on the parting and reunion of Heughan and Balfe’s characters, who got separated when Claire returned to the 20th century. However, she is expected to get reunited with Jamie in a print shop after 20 years.
Does the cast not read Diana Gabaldon’s books at all?
Meanwhile, Variety revealed that “Outlander” Season 3 stars and producers do not read the Diana Gabaldon’s novels.
Talking at the Television Critics Association press tour on Friday, July 28, 2017, actress Sophie Skelton revealed that she does not bother reading the books.
Skelton shared that she does not read too far and just let her character grow the way it is written on the scripts. The 23-year-old co-star of Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe added that she does not want to be fed with spoilers so she refused to read the novels.
Ronald D. Moore has also divulged that they have been following featuring one book in each season. The showrunner said that, for them, this is the best way to tell the story to the viewing public.
