As the Fall TV season draws nearer, more viewers are anticipating the return of their favorite TV shows. Take for example The CW's "Riverdale" Season 2, which will premiere on October 11. With it, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa promised that the premiere episode will unveil whether Fred Andrews (Luke Perry) survives his shooting.

The Hollywood Reporter recently revealed the blooper reel and season 2 promo, which showcases the moments right after Fred was shot, with Archie (KJ Apa) running into a hospital and asking for help, his bleeding, wounded father in his arms.

When his friends catch up with him, he is hesitant to talk about what truly happened. Pop (Alvin Sanders) himself says in a voice over, "It was like the angel of death had come to Riverdale."

Archie discovers a dark side to him

Previous reports have indicated that "Riverdale" season 2 will take on an even darker tone than its breakout debut season. In fact, one character who is poised to discover a darker side to himself is Archie. Series creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa told THR, "There's a switch that goes off...it's a different side of Archie we haven't seen yet." But Archie isn't the only one who will turn over a new leaf when the sophomore season arrives.

Cheryl has plans for her mother

In the newly released "Riverdale" season 2 promo, viewers see Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) caressing her bandaged mother, who looked like she had a lot of burns. This may be indicative that Cheryl threw her into the burning house, or that she has plans to keep her mother incapacitated. Her motives are yet unclear, but she may be out for revenge for the murder of her brother by the hands of her father, where it seemed her mother just stood by and watched.

Jughead will be forced to pick a side

Now that Jughead (Cole Sprouse) is out of Riverdale High and living on the Southside, he's seen as an outsider. The repercussions of his father being sent to jail will be felt throughout "Riverdale" season 2, as he's forced to go to a different school and spend time away from his real friends.

Sprouse explained to THR, "As the season progresses, it's going to start forcing him to pick a side, which is difficult for him."

Three mysteries to be unveiled

When "Riverdale" premiered earlier this year, it begged the question, "Who murdered Jason Blossom?" Now that the mystery has been solved, "Riverdale" season 2 is set to present even more mysteries and ask more questions. Executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa told ET that not one but "three kinds of big mysteries" are set for the upcoming season. The addition of more plots was inevitable, as the sophomore season is going to be 22 episodes long, compared to the first season, which was only 13 episodes long. "Riverdale" season 2 premieres on The CW on October 11.
