'Confederate' receives negative reactions
After HBO’s announcement of "Confederate¸" many expressed their ire on social media. Almost immediately, people began pointing out the dangerous nature of the concept taking into account the divisions that are already found in American politics.
Some people pointed out the similarities between the recently canceled WGN’s "Underground," which revolved around the key figures in the Underground Railroad. Others drew similarities to a 2004 mockumentary called "CSA: The Confederate State," which depicts a world where the Western Hemisphere is called the Confederate States of America.
People were quick to point out that a show like "Underground" got cancelled while "Confederate" gets produced.
However, the idea of David Benioff and Dan Weiss teaming up again, armed with a stimulating premise is just too much to write off. What do you think of the Benioff and Weiss new project? Let us know your thoughts by leaving a comment below!
