Beyonce and Jay Z started dating following their collaboration on "'03 Bonnie & Clyde," where the former appeared in the music video as the rapper’s girlfriend, prompting fans to suggest that the couple is already in a relationship. Everyone knows they try and keep their relationship private, as the “Love on Top” singer said, it has helped their relationship stood still through the test of time. They got married in 2008 and have a combined net worth of $1.16 billion as a couple. On June 18, the former member of Destiny’s Child gave birth to twins but their names weren’t revealed at least until Friday.
Twins’ names derived from a famous poet?
TMZ reports that Beyonce and Jay Z filed legal documents on June 26, securing the rights to the names of their twins, Rumi and Sir Carter. It is said that the same company filed the documents for blue ivy’s name when she was born on January 2012. The couple hasn’t officially announced the names of the twins but it seems that these are somewhat confirmed due to some leaked information. So, why Rumi and Sir then?
Beyonce and Jay Z have yet to confirm this but according to TMZ, Rumi is a famous Persian poet in the 13th century and Sir is one of his references in one of his poems. “Bring the pure wine of love and freedom. But sir, a tornado is coming. More wine, we'll teach this storm.
A thing or two about whirling,” reads the poem.
Twins’ names trademarks
The trademarks that Beyonce and Jay Z filed for their twins’ names are reportedly for baby needs. It includes novelty items, rattles, sports balls, tote bags, playing cards, hair ribbons, water bottles, mugs, strollers, baby teething rings, key chains, cosmetics and fragrances.
It seems that these two newborns already have their own brand, eh? Well, it does make sense knowing that their parents are one of the wealthiest artists in the world. Mom became the highest-paid black musician in history in 2014 while dad is second-wealthiest hip hop artist in the United States.
The couple’s marriage
Beyonce and Jay Z got married in April 2008 away from the cameras and have been private about their relationship since then.
In 2011, the "Crazy in Love" singer suffered a miscarriage and described it as the most heart-rending thing happened to her. To move on from it, she went back to writing music and the couple flew to Paris for an album cover shoot, where she unexpectedly got pregnant. In 2012, Blue Ivy was born.
