Avid fans and the stellar cast had the time of their lives catching the much-anticipated footage of the upcoming film, “Avengers: Infinity War” at the D23 Expo hosted by Disney in Anaheim, southern California. Social media was abuzz with excitement as Marvel fans witnessed some new physical details shown by their favorite superheroes.

Unexpected elements had not been lost on movie fanatics, who had recently seen images of the movie’s characters, notably Robert Downey Jr.'s character looking like he was wearing something cut out for what may possibly be an Arc reactor.

At the Anaheim Expo, fans gathered tidbits on what may possibly unfold next in the highly awaited superhero team-up movie of 2018.

Thunderous applause and screams from fans filled the air as the sneak preview presented at the biennial exposition event came to a close. Beforehand, Marvel Studios man-at-the-helm Kevin Feige took the occasion to announce that “Avengers: Infinity War” marks the 10th anniversary of the US release of the first, original Marvel Cinematic Universe film project when it is shown in May 2018.

Spotted going up the D3 Expo stage – covered by many media outlets and featured in leading social media sites for eager fans to see – were the big stars themselves, including Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Benedict Cumberbatch, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Holland, Paul Bettany, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Olsen, Karen Gillan, Don Cheadle, Dave Bautista, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, and Chadwick Boseman.

With them was Josh Brolin, who plays the role of the supervillain Thanos who struck an ominous figure in the footage.

Disney films that also stunned D23 crowd

It was not just the giant Avengers gathering that brought the Expo audiences to their feet. The first clip of "The Lion King" that is slated to be shown in July 2019'did that as well.

Director Tim Burton, on the other hand, addressed the D23 crowd upon presenting the video footage of the animated classic film “Dumbo” that is set for release sometime in March 2019.

Other Disney favorites showcased during the event were "Nutcracker and the Four Realms” and "A Wrinkle in Time," the epic adventure under the directorial helm of Ava DuVernay.

Also seen talking about the sequel to the much loved “Mary Poppins” was no other than British actress Emily Blunt, who has been singled out to play the iconic role.
