Be careful: spoilers about "Game of Thrones" season 7 may follow. Just a few hours after the "Game of Thrones" season 7 premiere a lot of theories and analysis spread all over the web. The best discoveries until now have been made by Reddit user Beastmodekait, who spotted a few understandable sentences in the forbidden book Sam has stolen from the library.

A quick recap

Samwell Tarly is doing grunt work at the Citadel in Oldtown. He's still looking for information on White Walkers and dragonglass, but he can't access the locked section of the library.

As Archmaester Ebrose (played by Jim Broadbent) doesn't seem willing to give him the key, so Sam steals it from a maester.

In one of the forbidden books, he soon discovers that there is a huge quantity of Dragonglass at Dragonstone, and plans to send a raven to Jon.

Shortly after, Ser Jorah Mormont grabs Sam from a cell where he's being kept. Mormont's arm is entirely covered by greyscale.

The revelation in the book

If you look carefully at the left side of the picture above you can see the words "cure," "illnesses," and "ingestion". Apparently, the dragonglass is not only useful to kill White Walkers, but also to heal people. If ingested, the ancient material can cure diseases (although we don't know which ones).

This information looks like a clear hint about what is going to happen: Sam will help Ser Jorah Mormont.

Why Samwell is going to help Ser Jorah

Jorah already drew Sam's attention, so it's likely that they will talk again. Moreover, Sam is a good guy and he eventually grew attached to Lord Jeor Mormont, Jorah's father and former Lord Commander of the Nightwatch.

All things considered, we think it's almost certain that Sam will help Jorah.

Shireen's greyscale was cured while she was at Dragonstone

There is also a connection between Shireen, Stannis Baratheon's daughter, and the possibility of using dragonglass as a cure. Shireen's greyscale was cured when she was an infant - maybe from a maester of the Citadel -, while she was living at Dragonstone.

According to what Samwell recently discovered, a large amount of Dragonglass can be found in dragonstone. In our opinion, this supports the idea of Dragonlass being used as a cure for greyscale.

The dragonglass is a material full of surprises: it was used to create the White Walkers, can be used to kill them, can be used to stop a man from turning into a wight (remember what happened to Benjen Stark?) and, apparently, can also heal people from diseases.

Don't forget: the second episode of "Game of Thrones" will air on July 23, on HBO.
