Wonder Woman” flew to second best on Tuesday with $14.5 million. The new Warner Bros. film continues to rule the box office, becoming one of the highest-grossing summer movies to date. From its Tuesday night previews, “Wonder Woman” has grossed over $30 million, beating out “Jurassic World” which grossed $24.2 million from its Tuesday night previews. Indeed, Gal Gadot-starred film is set to break the records of previous Hollywood blockbusters.

Analysts claim that “Wonder Woman” will touch the $1 billion mark at the box office during its theoretical run.

If it happens, the film will join the race of the highest-grossing movies of 2017 and may break the record of Disney’s live-action remake of “Beauty and the Beast.”

The box office report

As of June 6, 2017, “Wonder Woman” had grossed over $105 million, and it’s just the beginning. We are hoping that this film will make at least $600 million at the domestic box office and over $1.5 billion internationally. “The Mummy,” is also an anticipated film this month. Set to release on June 9, 2017, “The Mummy” features Sofia Boutella and Tom Cruise in leading roles.

Some critics believe that the new monster movie will beat out the Patty Jenkins film, but nothing is confirmed. Tuesday’s tally for the Gal Gadot film represents a 24 percent boost over Monday; thus, “Wonder Woman” is ranked third this week, behind “The Dark Knight Rises” ($18 million) and “The Dark Knight” (17 million).

However, it is not possible for us to say anything about what the totals of the film will be at the end of its run.

The importance of female superheroes

With the smashing box office success of “Wonder Woman,” Patty Jenkins has opened the doors of Hollywood for herself. She is set to develop a sequel to this film. Jenkins may also develop brand new female superhero films in the coming months.

No doubt, “Wonder Woman” has made us realize that females can do a lot better than males as superhero characters. Thanks to the marvelous and lively performance of Gal Gadot for changing our mentality.

Though the actress was expecting her second baby in those days, Gadot managed to play her character beautifully. She underwent a strict diet and learned martial arts to be fit for the role.

“Wonder Woman” has dozens of hero moments that will make you forget about male superheroes. The actress shot all the action sequences herself as she was not ready to compromise on the quality. As more and more people see “Wonder Woman,” they will realize that a female is far better than a male when it comes to helping others.
