She is happy upon learning that the show has captured the heart of the audience. She further added that they will now be able to place all dancers on a certain pedestal that they truly deserve.

Since "World of Dance" series has premiered, NBC breaks a record as the show made it as the top premiere summer alternative series in five years.

Further, the dance competition series also became the most watched TV show in nine. Without a doubt, Lopez-produced show is currently the biggest regular time slot premiere for this year.

Competition dance shows

Like any other dance competition shows, "World of Dance" is a show which allows dancers to show off their skills on the dance floor. A report from Yahoo revealed that each solo contestant is also given the chance to compete to duos and in groups in varied categories.

Each aspiring dance star is bagging for a $1 million grand prize and their respective performance will be judged by Jennifer Lopez, Derek Hough, NE-YO, and Jenna Dewan Tatum.

As per a report from Yahoo, the show gained about 11 million viewers in total. Basically, "World of Dance" ranks second with NBC's "America's Got Talent" in terms of ratings.

Most successful reality competition

To recall, "World of Dance" made its debut back in May. Since then, the reality dance competition became the most successful TV show that has been launched in quite some time. Apparently, the show gained high ratings since season one and it was not only a win for the network but also a success for the Universal Television's alternative young studio.

During Lopez's official statement on Thursday, the star shared that she cannot wait to continue her partnership with NBC. Further, for the past four episodes in the first season, "World of Dance" current ratings gained around 11.0 million viewers in total.

Apparently, the show made a good record of ratings and which was way better compared to other TV shows aired in 10 p.m. time slot. Meredith Ahr, the Universal Television Alternative Studio President, also shared that they are very thrilled and happy that "World of Dance" was embraced by both of the community and the viewers.

Hence, the show has just set the bar high this upcoming season two.
