Kate Beckinsale has found a new love after her husband, Len Wiseman, filed to end their 12-year marriage in 2016. The American director cited "irreconcilable differences" as the ground for divorce. But before the formal filing, several reports have claimed that the two have been separated for a year before they announced that they are going separate ways.

What went wrong?

The "Underworld" director was mired in dating rumors with CJ Franco even before their separation was made public. The two were spotted together on various occasions and reportedly continued their secret affair in the wake of Len Wiseman's split with estranged wife.

Kate Beckinsale, on the other hand, reportedly requested to keep all her jewelry and earnings after the split. It was also reported that the "Snow Angels" actress is asking to reserve the right to spousal support from her ex-husband. Daily Mail cited that the actress, however, did not specify the date for her legal separation from the director.

Who's the new guy?

A year later, Kate Beckinsale is finally moving on, thanks to her new and younger lover, Matt Rife. He is a 21-year-old stand-up comedian who is known for his participation in "Wild 'N Out" on MTV. E! noted that the new guy is a native of Ohio and met the actress through a mutual friend.

The publication also confirmed that the two have been seeing each other for the past few months now.

In fact, the "Serendipity" actress and her beau are making no effort to hide their relationship after they were recently spotted sharing a passionate kiss in West Hollywood.

Matt Rife is just three years older than Kate Beckinsale's daughter with Michael Sheen, while the actress is two years older than the comedian's mother.

"Age is just a number. Find someone you love, and take their breath away...even if that means putting a kink in their oxygen tank cord. #LifeAlertTypeOfLove," he said in a now-deleted social media post.

The MTV personality started performing stand-up comedy at 15 years old. He was even featured in "ComicView" and became the youngest guest of the BET series.

Matt Rife admitted he was inspired by Dane Cook after seeing him for the first time in "Comedy Central." The "Wild 'N Out" cast member, however, drew flak for his controversial tweets last year.

Kate Beckinsale, on the other hand, is reportedly fond of stand-up comedy. In fact, she has been seen at comedy clubs countless times with Michael Sheen to support Sarah Silverman.
