Everything is funnier inside James Corden's "Carpool Karaoke," a segment from his late night program, "Late Late Show." In fact, our favorite English singer-songwriter, Ed Sheeran, graced the show to accompany the TV host while driving around Los Angeles.

Ed meets James

Ed Sheeran hopped in to Corden's ride to pick up his guitar for the Tuesday episode of "Carpool Karaoke." While cruising around the streets of the City of Angels, the "Wake Me Up" crooner performed some of his hit songs with the comedian, including "Thinking Out Loud" and "Shape Of You."

Not only that, the 26-year-old singer even sang Justin Bieber and One Direction's songs "Love Yourself" and "What Makes You Beautiful." In fact, Ed Sheeran and Corden even performed their new version of "Castle on the Hill" which they dedicated to Los Angeles.

At some point, Ed Sheeran was asked whether it's true that he could fit in 47 chocolate malt balls inside his mouth, the "Shape Of You" artist shamelessly confirmed that the rumors were true. To his surprise, Corden has prepared a jar of chocolate malt balls to challenge the singer.

The TV host managed to fit in 26 chocolate malt balls inside his mouth before he opened the door to spit them out. Ed Sheeran, on the other hand, reached 50 before he stopped himself from looking so hilarious.

What happened in Tokyo with Justin?

During his 13-minute appearance, Ed Sheeran shared something about his recent night out with Bieber in Tokyo. The English crooner said he and the "Cold Water" artist hit a "filthy dive bar" without any security or whatnot.

"We ended up at this golf course and he put a golf ball in his mouth and said, "Go on! Hit it out,"" he shared.

Although he tried his best not to hurt his co-singer, Ed Sheeran unfortunately hit Bieber across the face while aiming for the golf ball. The Canadian singer, on the other hand, was cool about which surprised the "Lego House" artist.

After sharing their wild night out in Tokyo, the English artist performed Bieber's "Love Yourself" which was co-written by the former.

In the "Carpool Karaoke" segment, the renowned Brit singer also revealed the reason why he decided to get rid of his phone. Ed Sheeran admitted he would usually wake to 50 text messages, but none of them would ask about how he is doing.

"It'd be like 'can I have this, can you lend me this, can you do this, can I get this', and it was fine at the beginning and it just got really, really draining by the end of it," Ed Sheeran added.
