One week after dealing with his much-publicized controversy, comedian Bill Maher returned to form and set his sights on none other than Donald Trump. As the president is dealing with a new scandal by the day, Maher made sure to give his thoughts on the latest twist.

Maher on Trump

It didn't take long after Donald Trump kicked off his campaign that a cloud of controversy began hanging over his head. After refusing to release his tax returns, Trump was hit with increased speculation as to what he could be hiding inside his financial information. As times moved on, Trump was hit with even more backlash over his constant praise of Russian President Vladimir Putin, which only took a turn for the worst when various past and present advisers and associates started being exposed for having their own ties back to the Kremlin.

As expected, the former host of "The Apprentice" has denied any wrongdoing, often referring to reports that say otherwise as "fake news," while accusing his political opponents and the media of orchestrating a "witch hunt" against him. As this has been going on, many high-profiled names have not let up with holding Trump's feet to the fire, with Bill Maher being one of them. As seen during the June 16 edition of "Real Time with Bill Maher," the comedian didn't hold back.

Kicking off his show with his usual monologue, Bill Maher made sure to target Donald Trump over the current issues of the day, including the news that the president is now under investigation for Obstruction Of Justice.

"For months he's been absolutely obsessed with every law enforcement official in the federal government telling everyone 'I'm not under personal investigation,'...well, now he's under personal investigation," Maher said to the applause of his audience. After citing a report from the Washington Post, Maher went on to say, "Fox News spent all night trying to debunk it.

Then Trump himself confirms it during his 4 a.m. poop tweet."

"This is like Watergate if Deep Throat was Nixon," Bill Maher went on to say, before explaining that special counsel to the Russian investigation, Robert Mueller, hired 13 lawyers to look into the obstruction of justice allegation against Trump. "He's so far up Trump's a**, he asked Putin to scoot over," Maher stated.

The atheist continued his mockery of the president, poking fun at the fact that Trump's own lawyer had to hire a lawyer over the matter at hand.

Moving forward, Bill Maher ripped into the billionaire real estate mogul for holding a special meeting with his cabinet so they could all praise him around the table. "These people used to have dignity!" Maher said of Republicans.

Moving forward

While Bill Maher and others in Hollywood and the media continue to push back against the White House, Donald Trump is being backed into a corner. With mounting evidence against him, only time will tell if he will be able to pull through without too much political damage.
