"Baby Driver" was directed by Edgar Wright. Wright has previously worked on such films as "Shaun of the Dead" and "Hot Fuzz". Written by Wright the summer hit follows the story of character Baby, a criminal who works for a man called Doc. Baby is looking for a way out of the life of crime and has to complete one last job to earn his freedom. Casting includes such actors as Ansel Elgort, Kevin Spacey, and Jamie Foxx.

Baby is not your typical driver

Character Baby, played by Ansel Elgort, is a very interesting one. Having been involved in a car crash when he was younger the boy was orphaned.

The accident also left him with tinnitus so he spends his days listening to music in an effort to drown out the ringing. Baby has a close relationship with his foster father, who is deaf and the pair communicate by signing.

At the diner where Baby hangs out, he begins to fall for waitress Deborah, played by Lily James. As their romance unfolds Baby decides that he no longer wants to be a criminal. Baby works for crime boss Doc as a getaway driver during heists. However, as a favorite of Doc's the crime boss won't make it easy for the driver to earn his freedom.

Doc tells Baby that he must complete one more heist. Once he does Baby will have earned his freedom. With no other choice, the driver agrees to complete one last job for his boss.

Judging by the trailer "Baby Driver" is set to be full of action and suspense as Baby sets out to win his freedom.

Music features heavily in the movie

Ansel Elgort's character uses music to drown out the ringing in his ears due to his tinnitus. Wright infuses this music throughout the movie. Baby's automobile escapades are always accompanied by carefully selected music.

Wright hits the mark with a variety of well-known songs. The life of Baby has been immersed in music and the songs become a narrative to his life. While Baby can't be plugged into his iPod for the duration of the Movie Wright ensures to integrate the music into the movie by other means.

"Baby Driver" is being referred to as a musical movie for this very reason.

According to the Deadline, the music in the movie is reason enough to watch it. Movie reviewer Pete Hammond states, that the movie is like a long sequence music video. Wright takes the epic of an action movie in a brand new direction with "Baby Driver".
