Diana Princess’s aunt, Antiope (Robin Wright), is spotlighted in the latest “Wonder Woman” poster.

The photo arrived online last night, showing Wright as a warrior who holds a sword in her right hand and is ready to attack the criminals. Robin is no stranger to bringing to life female superhero characters.

In the fourth and fifth seasons of “house of cards,” she played Claire Underwood – the wife of Frank Underwood. For her incredible performance in this series, Wright received some awards and Variety named her one of the best female superheroes in Hollywood.

In “Wonder Woman,” Robin Wright plays the sister of Hippolyta and Diana's aunt, Antiope. It is a famous DC Comics character based on the mythological Amazon Antiope. In the novels, Antiope is one of the founding members of Amazons of Bana-Mighdall, whom they worship as a sacred ancestor. The character has now been dubbed “the greatest warrior of all time” by producer Charles Roven.

Born in April 1966, Robin Wright is a famous American actress and filmmaker. For her fantastic performance in Netflix series “House of Cards,” Robin received one Golden Globe Award in 2013, becoming the first female celebrity to win a Golden Globe for a web television series.

She is best known for her works in “Santa Barbara,” “The Princess Bride,” “Forrest Gump,” “Message in a Bottle,” “Unbreakable,” “The Conspirator,” “Moneyball,” “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,” and “Everest.” In addition to “Wonder Woman,” Wright is set to play a major role in “Blade Runner 2049” opposite Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford, slated for a 2017 release.

“Wonder Woman” is scheduled to be released in the US on June 2, 2017. It is intended to be the fourth film in the DC Extended Universe. In March 2007, Silver Pictures and Warner Bros. announced that Joss Whedon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) would serve as a director and screenplay writer for “Wonder Woman,” with a reported salary of $3.1 million. But he was busy with the shooting of “Serenity” and could not give proper time.

For the role of Diana, Priyanka Chopra, Nicole Kidman, Morena Baccarin, Charisma Carpenter, and Selena Gomez were auditioned, but the filmmaker chose Gal Gadot due to her impressive facial features and strong performance in the previous films.
