We remember them from their movies and shows, including "Nashville" star Powers Boothe — the roles they played — Joanie (Erin Moran), Leia (Carrie Fisher), Mary (Mary Tyler Moore), and Jason (Alan Thicke). Also, we have lost music sensations such as Roger Ailes, Leonard Cohen, George Michael, and Mose Allison.

Roger Ailes

Born in May 1940, Roger Ailes was an American television personality and media consultant. He laid the foundation of Fox News and the Fox Television Stations Group and served Richard Nixon, George H. W Bush, and Ronald Reagan as a consultant.

In 1962, Ailes completed his graduation from Ohio University in Athens, where he majored in television and served WOUB as a station manager for over two years. His most memorable television shows are “The Mike Douglas Show,” “The Selling of the President 1968,” “A Current Affair,” and “The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet.” Roger passed away on May 18, 2017, in Florida, after falling and hitting his head at home the previous week.

Chris Cornell

Born in July 1964, Chris Cornell was an American singer, songwriter, and musician. He was the lead vocalist of the bands Audioslave and Soundgarden. He founded his own band titled Temple of the Dog a few years ago, which was dedicated to his best friend Andrew Wood.

His best albums include “Euphoria Morning,” “Carry On,” “Scream,” “Higher Truth,” and “Songbook.”

In 2004, he tied the knot with a fashion model Vicky Karayiannis and had a daughter with her. On May 18, 2017, Cornell was found dead in his bathroom in Detroit. The dead body was lying on the floor with an exercise band around his neck.

Brad Grey

Born in December 1957, Brad Alan Grey was a TV presenter and Hollywood filmmaker. He founded the Brillstein-Grey Entertainment Agency and served as a chairman of Paramount Pictures from 2005 until 2017. He studied at the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Management and majored in business administration.

He is remembered for his hits “It's Garry Shandling's Show,” “The Larry Sanders Show,” “How to Train Your Dragon,” “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol,” “There will be Blood,” “Shrek the Third,” “An Inconvenient Truth,” “No Country for Old Men,” and “True Grit.” Brad died on May 14, 2017, from cancer in Los Angeles, California.
