rachel lindsay has found her Mr. Right. Or at least her Mr. Right Now. “The Bachelorette” star has revealed that she is engaged to one of the 30 suitors she met on her season of the ABC reality dating show. In a press call with reporters, Rachel Lindsay revealed she is "very much so in love and very much so engaged.” According to USA Today, the Dallas attorney said her fiancé has everything she was looking for in a husband.
Rachel Lindsay’s announcement that she is happily engaged before her season of the show even premiered yet is a bit of a surprise.
Usually, the leads on the ABC franchise are sworn to secrecy about the outcome of their season, but Rachel said her season is "a season of firsts.” Indeed, Rachel Lindsay is the first-ever African-American lead on the show in more than 30 seasons.
Rachel’s guys are more professional types
While Rachel Lindsay says she is head over heels in love, “The Bachelorette” beauty admitted it “was not an easy decision” to choose her soulmate. Rachel was recently in love with another man and even admitted that if Nick Viall had proposed to her on his season of “The Bachelor,” she would have “100 percent” accepted his proposal—and that Neil Lane sparkler.
Now, Rachel admits that she has moved on is much happier with her mystery man.
“Bachelorette” host Chris Harrison told E! News that Rachel’s suitors are a combination of “Type A personalities” and are more professional types than on past seasons of the show because of “who Rachel is.” But because this is a Reality Show, it may not be a surprise that one of the guys had a crush on Rachel in elementary school, and at least two others have appeared on a past reality dating show.
Will Rachel walk down the aisle in a TV wedding?
Although she says she is finally getting her “happily ever after,” only time will tell if Rachel Lindsay will walk down the aisle. A handful of the show’s most successful couples have walked exchanged vows on ABC’s dime with splashy TV weddings, but the track record for marriage on “The Bachelor” franchise is very poor.
One of the most recent couples from the show, Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell, recently ended their engagement. The most recent “Bachelorette” stars, Kaitlyn Bristowe and JoJo Fletcher, are still engaged to their final picks Shawn Booth and Jordan Rodgers, while Rachel Lindsay’s former flame, Nick Viall, is currently engaged to his final lady, Vanessa Grimaldi.
Rachel Lindsay’s season of “The Bachelorette” premieres Monday, May 22 at 9 p.m. ET. on ABC.
