The month of May has many great television shows in store, including “Sense8,” “The Last Kingdom,” “Master of None,” and “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.” From the Netflix's originals to crime series, there are plenty of exciting programs to watch this month.

‘Sense8'

The second season of “Sense8” will premiere on Netflix this month. In July 2016, the streaming giant ordered new episodes of the science fiction series as the last season earned positive reviews from television critics and audiences. On Rotten Tomatoes, it scored 7 out of 10 based on 103 reviews.

“Sense8” has been directed by Lilly Wachowski, and co-produced by Michael Straczynski. It is a joint project of Anarchos Productions, Studio JMS, and Unpronounceable Productions. The cast includes Doona Bae, Aml Ameen, Jamie Clayton, Tuppence Middleton, Tina Desai, Max Remelt, Brian Smith, and Miguel Angel. Terrence Mann, Naveen Andrews, Anupam Kher, and Freema Agyeman are new to the series. The 10-episode show will debut on May 5, 2017.

‘The Last Kingdom’

The highly-anticipated historical drama, “The Last Kingdom,” will premiere this month. It is a joint project of Netflix and BBC Two, and the story is inspired by a novel of the same name by Bernard Cornwell. The second season consists of eight episodes and explores the life of a Saxon nobleman, who is sentenced to jail and forced to choose between his city and the loyalties.

Alexander Dreymon, Tobias Santelmann, Emily Cox, Thomas Gabrielsson, Joseph Millson, Rune Temte, Matthew Macfadyen, and Ian Hart portray Uhtred, Ragnar, Brida, Guthrum, Efric, Ubba, Lord, and Becca, respectively. Adrian Bower, Simon Kunz, Harry McEntire, Brian Vernel, and Charlie Murphy reprise their roles from the first season.

‘Master of None’

Aziz Ansari‘s acclaimed series, “Master of None,” will return to Netflix this May. Its first season received satisfactory reviews from television critics and audiences. The story revolves around a businessman, Dev, who comes to New York City to establish his own business and faces a lot of challenges.

The cast includes John Legend and Bobby Cannavale.

“Master of None” was released on November 6, 2015. On Rotten Tomatoes, the show has an approved score of 7 out of 10 based on 54 reviews. On Metacritic, it has a rating of 94 out of 100 based on 32 reviews.

‘Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’

The third season of “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” will debut this month. This American sitcom features Ellie Kemper in the leading character. It has been developed and co-produced by Tina Fey. The story is about a young lady, Kimmy, who travels to New York City to begin a new life. Gradually, she develops an interest in a handsome man, Gary, and gets a job as a nanny.

Her employer, Jacqueline, asks Kimmy to work under strict terms and conditions. The show was originally developed for NBC under the title “Token.” Later on, the rights were sold to Netflix for $60 million.
