Selena Gomez is ditching the McMansions for a modest home—modest by L.A. standards, at least. According to Yahoo Celebrity, the “Come and Get It” singer has forked over a little more than $2 million dollars for a modest, 3,188 square foot Studio City property that has four bedrooms and four baths. Selena’s new pad is retro—it was built in 1951—but it has been completely remodeled with plenty of modern day touches.

The pop starlet’s new home has some of the typical Hollywood amenities like a gourmet kitchen, a pool, and a spa, as well as two fireplaces for those nights she wants to snuggle on the couch with The Weeknd.

In addition, the backyard features a built-in barbecue pit.

Selena’s past houses were bigger

Selena Gomez is known for her on-the-go lifestyle, and she clearly doesn’t buy real estate as a long-term investment. She lived at home with her mom and stepdad, Mandy and Brian Teefey, for many years even after she was making big bucks as a TV star and pop singer, but once she set out on her own, Selena didn’t stay put for long. The former “Wizards of Waverly Place” star previously owned a starter home in Tarzana, which she sold to Iggy Azalea in 2011. And Selena unloaded her next home, located in the posh Hidden Hills California neighborhood, for $3.3 million last year.

The Weeknd has supersized

While Selena Gomez has downsized in the housing department, her boyfriend The Weeknd has reportedly upsized.

According to the Daily Mail, the rapper just dropped $18 million on a sprawling estate in Selena’s old Hidden Hills stomping grounds. The supersized property includes nine bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, a wine cellar, a fitness center, an eight-stall barn, and a guest house that’s 1,200 square feet.

While Selena will surely continue to spend plenty of time in Hidden Hills with The Weeknd, the fact that she just bought her own place makes it pretty clear she won’t be moving in with her man full-time anytime soon.

Selena’s new place is about 15 miles from The Weeknd’s estate, so the musical couple won’t be all that far from one another. But they will be far enough to dash any shippers’ dreams that they are ready to take their relationship to the next level by living together.

Of course, The Weeknd will have some other familiar company in the neighborhood. His new house is down the street from his rap rival Drake.
